Henri Jean Fabre (December 22, 1823-October 11, 1915) was a French entomologist, considered the "Father of Modern Entomology." As a biologist, he pioneered unprecedented studies of insects in their habitats. He also authored numerous popular textbooks, including Souvenirs entomologigues, 1879-1907. Henri Jean Fabre, who was a personal friend of Louis Pasteur, asserted concerning God:
<Without Him I understand nothing; without Him all is darkness....Every period had its manias. I regard Atheism as a mania. It is the malady of the age. You could take my skin from me more easily than my faith in God.> 1823HF001
