Horatio Nelson (September 29, 1758-October 21, 1805)

Horatio Nelson (September 29, 1758-October 21, 1805) was a British Admiral. He defeated Napoleon's French fleet at the Battle of the Nile, August 1, 1798, and the combined Spanish and French fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar, October 21, 1805.

Although he was victorious in one of the most decisive battles in naval history, Lord Nelson was fatally wounded. Carried below deck, his last words were:
